Original Perspectives and its associates have a wide range of experience in computer modelling, electromagnetic modelling work having been carried out for both research and practical design across the EM spectrum.

The team includes staff who have worked on the design and measurement of integrated antennas on  complex platforms with experience of modelling the antenna performance on large structures from HF to UHF frequencies and beyond with antenna design into the GHz region.  This capability is supported by experience of developing a range of software for microwave component design.

In addition to this, work has been carried out using and developing a number of other prediction codes with a range of different mathematical modelling techniques matched to the type of problem being solved.  It is pertinent to understand the full requirement to allow the most appropriate modelling technique to be selected.

OPL also has access to a range of novel modelling techniques through its association with Universities . There are expert staff, with particular interests in nonlinear aspects of electromagnetic design and propagation, and with development of techniques to assess the performance of electromagnetic materials and take into account high power design issues.  The Original Perspectives team has also been involved in the validation and measurement of nonlinear electromagnetics behaviour developing new approaches to component and system design.

The necessity of validation in modelling is understood as is the interpretation of modelling into design aspects.  The team has been involved with a number of validation programmes. It has access to key members of the teams who have taken part in the development and validation of key electromagnetic modelling codes .  This included the development of user friendly tools to help in the process of entering the characteristics of large structures into such codes and the display of the output results.  It thus understands the advantages and limitations of this approach.

The group can combine their modelling capability with design and study experience of antennas integrated into structures, component and systems design.  Hence it understands the difficulties of arranging a number of antennas in close proximity, including high field strengths, unwanted coupling, adverse effects on antenna patterns and bandwidth.  It is thus in an excellent position not only to model the antennas but also to assist in developing solutions to problems indicated by the modelling.

In summary OPL has access to a wealth of expertise in Modelling and design of antennas, materials and components in complex scenarios and can access expertise with specific experience of working on design and of Electromagnetic components, antennas and antenna layout.
